Hill Climbing Cheat Sheet: Quick Wins to Make Hills Suck Less for Cyclists & Triathletes

Master the climb with these fast tips tailored for cyclists and triathletes — and join our Hill Climbing Skills Night to put them into action! Let’s be honest — HILLS SUCK . Whether you’re a cyclist grinding it out or a triathlete trying to “save your legs,” climbing hills can feel like punishment. But with the right strategy (and the right crew), they can suck way less  — and maybe even become your secret strength. 💪 Here’s your quick-win cheat sheet to crush those climbs, feel more confident, and stop dreading the hill section on your next ride or race. 🔑 CYCLIST-SPECIFIC WINS: Shift early, not desperately.   Gear down before  you hit the steep stuff. Sit up, open your chest.  Better posture = better breathing = better power. Cadence is king.  Try to keep your rhythm steady, even if your speed drops. 🏊‍♀️🏃‍♀️ TRIATHLETE-SPECIFIC WINS: Protect your legs for the run.  Pace wisely and spin at a slightly higher cadence. Don’t hammer the hill.  Train your brain to manage effort, not just conquer segments. Practice climbing in aero — but don’t force it.  Know when to sit up and spin. 🎯 UNIVERSAL PRO TIPS: Pace yourself.  Start easy and finish strong — burning out early is a no-go. Focus on your breath.  Inhale deep through the nose, exhale sharp out the mouth. ( Video ) Stay consistent.  Hill climbing is 50% physical, 50% mental, and 100% repeatable. 📌 Bookmark this post & read the full guide here:👉 Achieve Effortless Hill Climbing – Full Post 🚨 Want to practice this in real life?
